Incredible, holy f*n sh**, Unbelievable, totally off the hook, another one of the best shows ever, just a few of the adjectives used when describing Chickenfoot! No matter what words you can come up with, you can apply them to this band. It's more than a concert, a show or entertainment; it’s a "VIBE" that really can't be described!
The place was HOT AS HELL! It reminded me of the Cambridge, MA. show at the Middle East. This venue was a lot bigger but they still packed em in! Once again doing line time for about 8 hours paid off as we were front and center for the festivities. Davey Knowels opened up and did a pretty good job of getting the crowd into the groove. Chickenfoot opened with Avenida Revolution and just blew through the album in what seemed like no time. They all were (incredible) or insert any of the above adjectives! Joe burnt up the frets as always, Sam singing loud and strong, Mikey lay down the rhythm with rock solid bass and Chad pounding the crap out of his kit.
My wife came up with a great idea that got a good chuckle from the band. She put a toothbrush, soap and a comb on a rope and threw it up to Mikey! He then picked it up put it on and starting walking around with it. Then he showed Sammy and Sammy combed his hair, brushed his teeth, then him and Mikey pretended to use the soap! Then Sammy showed Chad and he cracked up. We got the necklace back too! It was great! The mrs. got a few smiles and winks from Chad. I'm pretty sure he actually remembered us. During My Kind of Girl Sammy looked at Darl and sang together for a little bit. At the end of the show we held up a poster of the picture we took of Chad in Cambridge with his pants down. Sammy grabs it and opens it on stage and goes up to Joe shows him, Joe cracks up, then goes over to Mikey and he cracks up then they all laugh as Chad recognizes the pic. Then Chad pulls his pants down again to show the identical tat on the other leg!!!! Again he was going commando! After all this was over before they left Chad came over and after fighting off the rest of the hands around us, handed Darlene his wrist sweatband. That was the one sucky thing about this show. The people on one side of us sucked! Besides try to grab the wristband one guy tried to steal my wife’s soap on a rope when Mikey tried to give it back to her. I ended that attempt pretty quick.
Oh yeah, one other thing happened. This was the show that my wife originally won the backstage meet & greet with Joe. Unfortunately the band split right after the show so we didn't get to meet him. Fortunately the fantastic organization that these guys have took care of us for the next night in Boston, more on that later. Gotta go for now and enjoy the rest of our 19th anniversary post Boston tomorrow with all the pics!

I don't even know where to start with this show...this whole night was amazing. After standing in line for what was it? Almost 8 hours, we finally got in and wound up front row center. I don't have to tell anyone how great the band was, you all know that. Highlights for me...the band recognized us and made note...I got lots of smiles and winks from Chad throughout the night...Sammy sang with me during 'My Kind Of Girl'...I made my 'soap on a rope' necklace and threw it to Mikey when they played the song...he picked it up, laughed like hell, put it on for the whole song...showed Sammy who loved it...he brushed his teeth with the toothbrush, washed up with the soap, and put my comb through his hair...then he showed Chad...they got a kick out of it for sure. Mikey kissed it and gave it back to me. At the end of the night, we held up a nice big blown up picture I had taken of Chad with his pants down from the last Boston show in May...Sammy saw it and grabbed it...opened it up with the whole band looking at it and laughing like hell (I believe Christie got a picture of them looking at it)...then Chad did exactly what I wanted...he pulled his pants down!!! THANK YOU CHAD!!! They then gave the photo back to me. As they were saying goodnight, Chad came up to me and gave me his sweaty sweat band, a few people of course tried to grab it from him, but he told them NO, this is for her! :-D
Also, we had won backstage passes to meet Joe, but there was no backstage at Hampton Beach, so the band split immediately after playing...it was mentioned Joe wasn't feeling well that night. It was a bummer, but we understood for sure.
It was great to hang out with the gang once again...Heather (who made it just in the nick of time!)Tony, Mike, Christie, Linda, Jo Ann, Scott...I know I'm missing a couple, I apologize but I can't think straight yet. Then we all got to do it again in Boston...my review for that one is next...
THIS WAS AN EXCITING EVENING HERE AT HAMPTON BEACH!!! SAMMY, MIKE, JOE AND CHAD WERE AWESOME. THEY PLAYED FOR TWO HOURS. THE GUYS WERE EVEN BETTER THAN WHEN I SAW THEM AT THE MIDDLE EAST IN CAMBRIDGE,MA. YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW CHAD HAD INJURED HIMSELF IN EUROPE. MIKE WAS EXTREMELY STRONG ON BASS AND ENTERTAINING AS USUAL WITH PASSING CABO SHOTS AND A BEER TO THE GUY IN FRONT OF ME.GOT A BIG THUMBS UP WHEN HE READ MY SIGN SAYING I WAS THERE ON MAY 26. JOE WAS FREAKING AWSOME ON GUITAR HE WAS EVEN PLAYNG WITH HIS MOUTH AT ONE POINT! WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT SAMMY...POWERFUL LYRICS STRONG VOICE EVERYONE HAVING FUN UP THERE.I COULDNT BELIEVE HE READ MY SIGN THAT I SAW HIM THERE AT THE CLUB CASINO FOR A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES. GOT A BIG RECOGNITION. HE IS REALLY GOOD TO THE FANS. MOST EXCITING BEING ABLE TO CATCH TWO MICHAEL ANTHONY BASS PICKS AND A CHAD SMITH DRUM STICK!! THIS WAS A SHOW TO REMEMBER.-THANKS GUYS!!!! ALMOST FORGOT... DAVY KNOWLES AND THE BACK DOOR SLAM WAS THE OPENING ACT AND THESE GUYS CAME OUT ON STAGE SURPRISINGLY LOOKING LIKE THEY JUST GOT OUT OF SCHOOL AND THESE GUYS ROCKED!!!
